If the founding convention
of the New. Party “fails to
come out for a policy of peace-
ful coexistence, withdrawal
from NATO and for the reduc-
tion of the arms budget, it will
repeat what the CCF leaders
did and so fail the Canadian
people,” Morris warns.

But if it “declares for peace-
ful coexistence, an end to the
arms race, Canadian neutral-
ity, and disarmament. . . then
it will be speaking for hun-
dreds of thousands of Cana-
dians and will rally their sup-
port.”

The New Party must also
adopt policies to regain Cana-
dian independence from Amer-
ican imperialism, nationalize
U.S.-owned industries in Can-
ada, trade with all the world,
recognize People’s China, enter
into negotiations with Cuba,
the socialist . countries, - the
newly-liberated countries of
Africa and the Latin-American
republics and curb the powers
of monopoly through’ “demo-
cratic boards of investment
and management . . « represent- ;
ative of all sections of the com-
munity.”

The New Party must also;be-
