That’s the slogan for the
duration of the Pacific Tribune

subscription drive, now in its
second week. All press clubs are
expected to organize canvassing
teams for Monday nights, and of
course many PT supporters will
be out getting new subs and re-
newals on other evenings as well.

“Pacific Tribune readers in
every town I’ve visited so far
during the drive have responded
enthusiastically to our paper’s
appeal for 1,000 new subs and
renewals,” said PT business man-
ager Rita Whyte this week. “The
good results obtained in Powell
River (the area includes Lang
Bay, Westview, Cranberry Lake

and Wildwood Heights) were on-
ly possible because our press
workers went out and worked
night after night, knocking on
doors and ‘talking to potential
readers.

‘In Courtenay, Royston, Cum-
-berland and Cambpell River I
had the same experience—the PT
workers spared neither time nor
effort to get the drive rolling.

“Last week I visited Nanaimo,
Ladysmith and Cedar and helped
our readers there collect 28 subs
— the majority of them new
readers. Ten people took part
in the canvassing.”

This coming weekend Rita
Whyte will visit Lake Cowichan
and Duncan to help organize the
sub drive in those centres.
