QUNCIL | APR 17 1978 Mayor and Council 14th, 1978 L.D. Pollock City Administrator Re; Family Month and Provincial Counter Attack Programme The Juvenile and Family Service Division of the Attorney-~General's Department are working with the Family Month Committee on publicity for the Province's Counter Attack Programme. This is the programme to combat. drinking and driving. I have received the attached letter from one of their officers asking for permission to erect some 4' x 8' plywood signs on a temporary basis to advertise the programme during Family Month which is in May. A smail sample of their proposed sign is. attached along with a list of suggested locations. If these signs are placed on private property they would be permissible under the Sign By-law, however, if they are located on City road allowance, they require Council's permission. Some of the locations noted are perhaps not appropriate due to the lack of space on the road allowance. Location No. 1 is in the District of Coquitlam, location Nos. 4, 6, and 10 are perhaps appropriate as there is room to place a sign. In addition appropriate locations might be the City-owned vacant lot on the northeast corner of the Pitt River - Shaughnessy intersection and the northeast corner of Shaughnessy and Lougheed, near Superior Signs.
