May 5th, 1975 requesting that burning operations in the Lincoln Park area be stopped, had been received just prior to commencement of the meeting this evening. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That Section 2.6 of Schedule "A" of the "City of Port Coquitlam Subdivision of Land By-law, 1970, No. 992" be amended by deleting the words "then burned unless other instructions have been given by the City Engineer." where they appear therein and inserting the words “removed by the Developer." in their place; AND THAT the last sentence of the said Section 2 6 be deleted in its entirety. Defeated. Aldermen Traboulay, Mabbett, and Ranger voted in favour of the resolution. Acting-Mayor Alderman Thompson, and Aldermen Keryluk and Laking voted against the resolution. Prior to defeat of the foregoing proposed resolution, Alderman Traboulay spoke in support of his suggestion that developers not be permitted to debris in the process of clearing for subdivision purposes; however, Alderman Keryluk stated he felt an effort should be made to come up with a reasonable solution to the problem. Alderman Mabbett mentioned that the roots and stumps, etc., could be disposed of by the use of smokeless burners, mobile chippers, etc., however, it was pointed out that this equipment is not always readily available and that debris from land clearing is not accepted at disposal areas. Alderman Traboulay re citizen part icipation- civic affair (item defer- red) From the City Clerk, April 23rd, 1975, advising that at the regular Council meeting of April 21st, 1975 Alderman Traboulay gave notice that he would be proposing a resolution with respect to citizen participation in Civic Affairs at the April 28th, 1975 Council meeting; however, the subject was deferred at the meeting last mentioned for consideration at this time. Alderman Traboulay stated that in view of the lateness in time of the meeting this evening to discuss this subject, he was prepared to defer the same until the next Council meeting, and to this suggestion, members of Council generally agreed. NEW BUSINESS: Alderman Mabbett stated his concern with respect to the McLean Ald.
