Daniel Maturna — Mas Funo joint show opened at the Gallery on April 29th and runs until May 11th. Danny Maturna works out of the studio behind the Gallery. He is experimenting with raku in addition to decorative stoneware. His work in this exhibition explores textural surfaces on stoneware vessels with porcelain slips brushed over. Ina later stage the slip is scraped off to leave a pattern and some air brushing is applied over some areas. Mas Funo uses a variation of the technique of raku firing to enhance his clay sculptures. This exhibition will feature a series of sculptural forms which depict different ways of generating patterns. Byzantine new churches by Bill Rennie: Opening Monday May 12th, 7:30 to 9:30. This exhibition runs until May 25th. A series of miniature earthenware churches painted in metallic colours representing the brick and stone arches and domes of Byzantine churches. Bill was an award winner for the Potters Guild Sculpture show in 1984. David Zawaduk's show scheduled to open May 26th has been postponed until Sept. 29th, 1986. MEMRFRSHIP
