Liability for building inspection and approval
Protective Services Committee Meeting January 12 / 94

RECOMMENDATION:

That the City petition the province for similar protection as the City of Vancouver has
against claims resulting from inspection or approval of building plans.

BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:

Attached is a copy of wording which is included in the Vancouver Charter which protects
the City of Vancouver from claims resulting from the building inspection process. The
Protective Services Committee has met and reviewed this wording and recommend that
the City request similar protection.
