THAT the Municipal Clerk be instructed to prepare 4 bylaw to amend the
Official Community Plan to include the following text in Section V
'Yevelopment Permit Areas", Subsection 2.1 ‘Mary Hill Industrial Estate -
Development Permit Area I", clause (6) "Screening along Mary Hill Bypass
and Kingsway" as follows:

Insert the following as (6)(£):

"(6)(£) All vegetation used for landscaping shall be mature and of a quality
acceptable to the Municipality. All planting must comply with the
standards of or standards similar of those of the B.C.N.T.A.

All material other than vegetation, used for landscaping shall be
‘non~skid' type and of durable quality".

BACEGROUND:

Recently we received correspondence from the British Columbia Nursery
Trades Association regarding landecape guidelines. Since January 1990, the
Official Community Plan Development Permit Areas include these guidelines, but
it was noted that there is no provisions for landscape standards in
Development Permit Area I. This amendment would bring Development Permit Area
I into conformity with the other Development Permit Areas.
