May 27th, 1991/126 A Public Hearing pursuant .to Section 956 of the Municipal Act was held prior to the Council meeting of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, May 27th, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Aldermen M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk, R.H. Talbot, and MR. Wright in attendance. . Also in attendance were City Administrator BR. Kirk, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer I. Zahynacz, Director of Planning C.R. Felip, Parks and Recreation Director K.J. Taylor, Treasurer 3J.G. Maitland, Director of Permits and Licences John Shardlow, and Fire Chief J. Baillie. ZOWING PUBLIC HEARING: His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay advised the following proposed Bylaw would now be considered: ‘ . a Bylaw No. 25943. To rezone: Firstly: Lot 1, Plan 9164, and Secondly: Those portions of Lot "Aa", Plan 5354, and Lot 8 (Except Part Subdivided by Plan 32417), Plan 4318, identified "To Be Zoned RS~2" on the plan attached to this Bylaw as "Schedule A”, _ all of Section 6, Township 40, New Westminster District | from A-1 (Agricultural) to RS-2 (Small Lot Residential). The property is located at 930 Prairie Avenue and 2921 Freemont Street and would permit the development of 5/7 Single Family Lots. | Rs . | Letters were received from the. following people: Mrs. S,; Osberg, .3156 Raleigh Street, objecting to. the rezoning application. Mrs. Osberg would like to see the area remain agricultural and © would like to see developers contribute to the improvement of gervices: within the community. | - | rr es - a “Mr. Bill Berchtold, 850 Prairie Avenue, expressing concern that. proper | drainage be maintained as drainage is a problem in their area. ' The following people spoke regarding. the proposed zoning amendment: Mr. John Seager 1185. Dominion Avenue, opposed the rezoning and stated that a moritorium on rezoning in the area was required until the question of toxic waste dumping in the area was resolved.
