April 17, 1989/072 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, April 17, 1989, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, W.W. Stewart and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, Deputy City Engineer D.G. Riecken, Director of Community Planning W.A. Brown, Parks and Recreation Director K.J. Taylor and Secretarial Assistant to the City Clerk 5. Rauh. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the minutes of the Regular Council meeting held on April 3rd, 1989 and the Special Council meeting held on April 10th, 1989, be taken as read and adopted. Carried, SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS = Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. Ed Davies, #22-2445 Kelly Avenue and then presented Mr. Davies with a 75th birthday ceremony commemorative medallion. The "Stingers" soccer team were unable to attend. DELEGATIONS = His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. Mike O'Conner of the Greater Vancouver Regional District who addressed Council regarding the position of the G.V.R.D. on transportation problems in the Northeast Sector, particularly with regard to rail transport. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. Larry Stephenson, of the Marlins Swim Club who submitted a petition to Council requesting Council support the renovation of Centennial Pool. BYLAWS: Moved by Aiderman Gates: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That Bylaw No. 2413 be read a third time. Carried.
