NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam be authorized to petition the Minister of Municipal Affairs of the Province of British Columbia praying on behalf of the City for abandonment of the said portion of Road described in Bylaw No. 1873 and the vesting of the title of the land comprising the same in The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam. Carried. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: re CVRD Labour’ Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: Relations. WHEREAS pursuant to Section 2(b) of the Greater Vancouver Regional District's (the "Regional District") Letters Patent respecting labour relations matters (the "Letters Patent") any member municipality may discontinue to retain the Regional District for labour negotiations and related ancillary services in respect of any, or such portion of, its employees as such member municipality may designate, by notifying the Secretary of the Regional District; AND WHEREAS such notice shall become effective at the expiration of the 12th calendar month following receipt by the Secretary of the Regional District of such notice; AND WHEREAS Council resolved on June 22, 1981 that the City of Port Coquitlam give notice of withdrawal from the Regional District Labour Relations Committee at the earliest opportunity; AND WHEREAS it was the intent of the Council itn passing the June 22, 1981 Resolution to withdraw from the Regional District labour relations function pursuant to Section 2(b) of the Letters Patent as aforesaid; AND WHEREAS the Secretary has declined on behalf of the Regional District on technical grounds to accept receipt of notice of Council's June 22, 1981 Resolution as discontinuance pursuant to Section 2(b) of the Letters Patent;
