REPORT \ , J N\ C MAY 3 - 1976 TO: Mayor and Council April 22nd, 1976 FROM: Community Development Committee The Community Development Committee met on Wednesday, April 21st, 1976. Present were: Alderman M.A. Thompson, Chairman Alderman E.W. Mabbett V.G. Borch, P.Eng., City Engineer L.D. Pollock, City Administrator The Committee makes the following recommendations: 1. Subdivision - Imperial Avenue The Committee received a request from Grampion Ventures Ltd. to acquire a 20 foot strip of Imperial Avenue to permit a more advantageous subdivision of the parcel. A map of the proposed road layout is shown and you can cee that Imperial Avenue is presently 80 feet wide and the 20 foot strip could be added to the adjacent land asd reduce the width of Imperial to 60 feet. This road layout is in accordance with the pre~ planning scheme prepared by the City some time ago in order to accommodate @ proper road pattem for this whole area. The Committee recommends that we approve the sale of the 20 foot strip as requested by the Developer and that the land be sold at $1.50 per square foot, provided the Developer pays the Legal and Survey costs. 2. Sale of Land to Department of Highways Council will recall that we recently agreed to purchase a piece of land on the south side of the Lougheed Highway and on the east side of the Coquitlam River as an addition to the Lions Park area and that a small portion of this land was required by the Department of Highways for highway widening purposes. The Department of Highways has submitted the necessary papers to us to acquire their portion - being approximately 3,624 square feet - at an agreed rate of 90ยข per square foot, for a total sum of $3,261.60. The Land Registry Office has required a subdivision of this parcel before the City can obtain title from the present owner and therefore the land transaction has not yet been completed, however, the Committee recommends that the sale of 3,624 square feet of land to the Department of Highways as previously agreed, be approved, provided that the Department of Highways assume the cost of preparing the subdivision plans required for this transaction.
