They are (back row) Bob Sheridan, Craig Mcintyre, John Vienneau, Kermodes earn provincial berth March 3, 4 and 5, in the Caledonia gym, the Ker- mode “A” boys mounted the victory platform as they drove a three game win against teams from Kitimat and Prince Rupert, for the tile as zone champions.. “The Kermode team opened up playing the Kitimat Chieftans Thursday evening, rendering a score of 93 to 60. At halftime the Terrace team was ahead 60 to 40. High scorers for Kitimat were Art Mercer with 21 points and Mike Frazer with 12 points. High scoring ‘for Terrace were number 13, Clayton Williams, gunning 21 points; number five, Tony Czink with 18 points and John Vienneau with 17 points. March 4, the Kermodes drew a 103-70 win over the Prince Rupert Rainmakers. Showing all the strength of a top notch team, Clayton Williams went ahead to score 25 points while John Vienneau put up 15 points and both Ernie Froese and Scott Wittke gave 14 points each. Halftime showed the Kermodes in the lead 74 to 60. High scoring for the Scott Wittke, Ernie Dusdal, William Rainmakers was Mario Santurbano with 20 points. M.V.P. CLAYTON WILLIAMS In the final game the Kermodes once again strode to the top, winning 104 to 69 against Prince Rupert, scoring 68 to 50 at halftime. ' Northern Title : The Skeena Tsimshian Junior -Boys basketball team won the Northern Regional George this past weekend. None of their. games. were really close as they won three straight games by playing excellently as a team. In their first game, Skeena defeated Quesnel 68- 37 in what was supposed to have been a close game. For the first game, the Terrace Reds efeated All Seasons, 74-70, as Willie Chemko scored a game high of 32 points,“ followed by Andy Ruygrok with 20 points. For All Seasons Ed Devries and Dave Goertzen scored .30 and 15 points respectively. In the second game, Skeena Hotel Orphans continued winning by defeating Ev’s Clippers 99- 83. Joe Prokopchuk returned to action with a 30 int performance foliowed y Pat Kofced with 24. Rod Kluss was high man for Ev's with 38 points. He was assisted by. Dale Prest who scored 15 points. ‘and Bil All Seasons lost their second game of the week, 81- 77 to Ev’s Clippers ‘Wed- nesday night. The Clippers got fine performances from guards Rod Kluss and Jon Gurban, who scored 22 and 19 points respectively. For All Seasons, Ed Devries and Doug McKay played well in a losing cause, scoring 26 — and -25 points respectively. Braves 9-7 in overtime in Burns Lake while Smithers got by Kitimat Winter Hawks 4:2 in ‘Kitimat. John Vaudry, who saw only Iimited action because of an ankle injury, with his second goal of the game netted -what proved to be the winner for Rupert after 3:30 of overtime in ° B urns Lake. ‘ “The clubs split four goals in the opening twenty minutes of play before the Kings went ahead 64 after the second period.
