December 17, 1993 Jeff Yip, P.Eng. City of Port Coquitlam -6- consistent with the lower mainland Master Municipal Specifications and covers all sections of the required work. Approvals As soon as drawings are available, these will be forwarded to B.C. Hydro and to the Ministry of Environment, Water Management Branch, for approval. B.C. Hydro will be required to supply power to this project and therefore our electrical designer will coordinate the work with this utility company. Associated Engineering recognize the requirement to obtain approval - under the Water Act for this project. Our staff will prepare and submit an application to B.C. Environment on bebalf of the City. This application will be submitted as soon as possible within the design process and may be based on preliminary design drawings. By submitting this application early in the project, we shall endeavour to obtain the approvals in a timely manner, to offset the possibility the ' schedule of construction will be adversely affected by timing restrictions within the permit. We have assumed B.C. Environment will .not require the City to construct ary environmental compensation works as a result of this pump station. We have therefore made no provision. in our proposal to engage an environmental subconsultant. Should the Ministry require compensation works to be constructed, it would be necessary for us.to engage a specialist to complete this extra work and request an increase in fees for this additional service. . Quantities and Cost Estimates At the completion of the detailed design, Associated Engineering will complete a detailed quantity takeoff for the proposed structure and prepare a cost estimate for the City. — ASSOCIATED ENGINEERING
