. TOs Members of Council DATE: May 31, 1973 FROM: Mayor L.B. Scott Regional District Meeting - May 30th The request from Mayor J. Tonn of Coquitlam that the Greater Vancouver Regional District undertake a detailed ambulance study of all ambulance services in the region was today tabled by the Regional Board until the report on Health Services being prepared by Dr. R. Foulkes is received and reviewed. The report on obstetric-neonatal and gynecological services to the Board by the Hospital Advisory Committee was tabled by the G.V.R.D. . and likely will not be for several years to come, As requested I have contacted Dr, R.M. Heffelfinger and Mra. My Angus, R.N. for their views on this matter. Members of the G.V.R.D. executive committee are to meet with the executive committee of the B.C. Hydro and Power Authority in mid June to consider developing a Joint B.C. Hydro/G.V.R.D. policy in regard to the location and development of transmission lines. I wouid recommend that our Council write immediately to the G.V.R.D. asking for all available pertinent data regarding the proposed Coquitlam transmission expansion so that we can both individually and collectively, with the G.V.R.D., oppese the erection of the unsightly overhead lines that are proposed in and around our area, o r)
