JANUARY—FEBRUARY, 1974 JAN. 18-19 SUCCESSFUL SEMINAR HELD BY LOCAL 1-80 Officers of Local 1-80 IWA, knowing that the job stewards and committee members are the backbone of the Union, held another highly sucessful seminar for committee members January 18-19, in the Local office in Duncan. Approximately thirty students attended from both the sawmills and logging camps. The main topic of dis- cussion was how to properly communicate on the job and ww avoid the pitfalls created through poor communications. Instructors were Regional 8rd. Vice-President Bob Blanchard and International Assistant Research & Education coordinator Dick Spohn. Local 1-80 has held a number of such seminars and while very costly, the officers feel the money is well spent to upgrade the knowledge of their members.
