THE WAY F SOUTH VIE cAt oe TT PROGRAM OF THE SOUTH VIETNAM NATIONAL LIBERATION FRONT __ In 1960 the South Vietnam Natio- _ fal Front for Liberation brought out a 10 point program aimed at uniting all patriotic forces for the liberation and building of South Vietnam. Since then the NLF, in the course of leading the armed struggle to defeat U.S. aggression, has succeeded in achieving a formidable degree of national unity around the aims of its program. This unity is grudgingly acknow- ledged by Washington and ‘its pup- pet government in Saigon. The broad union of sections of people, organ- izations, political parties, national- ities, religious communities and pat- tiotic personalities has successfully established a firm base among the widest sections of the people. It persistently presents its alternative to war, poverty and military occupation brought on by U.S. aggression and political corruption from the Saiyon JANUARY 19,.1968—PACIFIC TRIBUNE—Page 6 generals. So far-reaching and real- istic are the proposals of the NLF program that a dilemma has been created in Washington and Saigon about dealing with the NLF. U.S. Am- bassador to Saigon, Bunker, is re- ported to be opposed to Saigon’s “being exposed to the dangers of dealing with the NLF.” Excerpts from the new revised NLF program, adopted in August 1967, and circulated among United Na- tions delegates in December, clearly indicate the road ahead for South Vietnam: 5s The forces that guarantees the ful- filment of the above task of fighting against U.S. aggression and saving the country is our great national union.
