Plummer, 1575 Angelo Avenue spoke in opposition to the proposed license and referred to the vote that was taken on a request for a pub license that was turned down, also concern was expressed for noise and vandalism in the area not to mention the proposed hotels proximity to another hotel. Mr. T. Roberts, 3826 St. Catherine spoke in favor of the License application mentioning that Golphis Supports sport groups as well as the fact that the CPR yards makes more noise than noise caused by the Golphis restaurant. Mr. W. Massie, 3240 Lancaster spoke in favor of the License application and feels that Golphis restaurant will run a first class establishment. Ms. J. Livingstone, #23~3046 Coast Meridian feels that the discussion regarding Golphis supporting local sports is not relevant to this application. Would like to know if there would be restrictions regarding access to the property and expressed concerns regarding noise, litter and crime Increasing in the area. Mr. Karamanolis, Golphis Restaurant 1651 Lougheed Highway currently has approximately 40 people working for him and if the application is approved the hotel will generate another 15 ~ 20 jobs and a $1,000,000.00 investment. In responding to some of the previous statements; the building will be air conditioned, a fence could be built along the back property line to :prevent any annoyance to surrounding property owners and in regards to traffic it would be preferable not to have access onto Angelo Street. Mr. R. Langan, 1673 Angelo Avenue further to his previous comments he would like to know what has happened to the proposed rezoning for a hotel next to this property? Mayor Traboulay replied that the zoning had third reading and for reasons unknown the applicant has not proceeded with his application and that third reading would be effective for one year. Mr. DBD. Ms. P. Hartigan, 1765 Myrtle Way spoke in support of the license application due to a shortage of hotel rooms in Port Coquitlam. In view of the growth experienced in Pert Coquitlam this type of development is needed as weil as the benefits of increased employment. Mr. N. Libby, 1651 Angelo Avenue spoke regarding the problems with parking and traffic in the area and how a Beer and Wine store will increase the existing problem. The garbage on Sunday is overflowing and the crows pick it up and throw it around. Mr. T. Roberts, 3826 St. Catherine spoke in favour of the license application, feels there is a need for another hotel and the location would be ideal. Mr. Re Lamblin, 1851 Patricia Avenue supports the license application feels Port Coquitlam needs more accommodation. AS a suggestion, perhaps the local sports groups could preform a litter patrol in the area.
