B4 - The Terrace Standard, Wednesday, May 18, 1994 Around Town Cancer drive tops $23,000 LOCAL VOLUNTEERS proved yet again just how gen- erous the people of Terrace can be. The final tally in the Cana- dian Cancer Saciety’s spring campaign totalled $23,000 in donations. The money raised was well over last year’s total and this year’s goal of $20,000. ‘Our heartfelt thanks go out to local volunteers, media, the business community, and the people of Terrace,’’ organizer Nel Lieuwen said last Friday. “You have all made this campaign a success.” If you didn’t get a chance to help out the campaign this spring, you still have an op- portunity to do so. Cancer Society volunteers here will be. selling daffodil bulbs for the first time. They’re asking interested people to place orders by June. The daffodil bulbs will arrive in August in time for fall plant- ing, The cost is $20 for a box of 65 bulbs. For more informa- tion, contact Pat at 638-1265.
