Alderman Ruth Hal- lock’s proposal that Ter- race endorse a request of the Seven Sisters Society to support provincial park status for the area sparked the longést ‘debate of council’s last session in 1985. Mayor Jack Talstra said the logs felled from the range were being brought to a Terrace mill. See story page 2. Bd “ NWCC board member needed With one resignation, the board of Northwest Community College (NWCC) has no one representing any area east of Terrace. Dirk Zutter’s resigna- tion from the college board was accepted by provincial government order-in-council number 2193 on Nov. 27, 1985. College president Dr. Val George said the board has asked for a replacement and expects one to be appointed early in 1986. The nine-member board is currently reduc- ed to eight, said Dr, George, and none live east of Terrace. Dr. George said there is no requirement for geograhical representa- tion on the board, but it, is usually done. He has specifically re- quested the government to appoint someone from the Bulkley Valley region.
