The car seat was one of 84 distribuled to New Year’s babies across the province, This lifesaving gift is a 13-year-old tradi- tion with the medical profession, which wants to ensure baby’s safely from the very first ride home from the hospital. The B.C. Council on Smoking and Health is celebrating Na- tional Non-Smoking Week, January 15-21 to create awareness of the health benefits of kicking the habit. “January is a great time to quit smoking,”’ says Shirley Thompson, B.C. Council chairperson, “as ils the stat of a new year and many of us look at ways of gelting more healthy.
