Eng., City Engineer SUBJECT: TENDER FOR TRAFFIC SIGNALS - MARY HILL AT WILSON AND COAST MERIDIAN AT ROBERTSON (Public Works Committee Mecting of August 16, 1994) That Council award the contract for the installation of the traffic signals at the intersections of Mary Hill/Wilson and Coast Meridian/Robertson to Bayhill Contracting Ltd. at the tendered price of $103,410.15 (including GST). 2) That Council allocate an additional $29,259.24 (including GST) for the supply of two traffic signal controllers from Econolite Ltd. 3) That Council allocate $53,002.92 from the 1994 Public Works Capital Fund and $79,666.47 from the Roads DCC Fund for this purpose. BACKOROUND & COMMENTS: On April 25, 1994, Council awarded the engineering, design, tendering and construction supervision work for the tratfic lights at Mary Hill and Wilson plus Coast Meridian Road and Robertson (see attached plan) to Shaflik Engineering Ltd. based on a cost of $10,442.77, This project has been designed and tendered with results as shown on the attached letter from Shaflik Engineering dated August 15, 1994. The lowest installation bid is from Bayhill Contracting Ltd, at a cost of $103,410.15 (including GST). Econolite Ltd. is the supplier of the City’s standardized traffic controller, and the cost for the two traffic controllers is $29,259.2 (including GST). | It is recommended that Council award the installation of these two traffic lights to Bayhill Contracting Ltd. at the tendered price of $103,410.15 (including GST). Attached is a calculation of the additional funds required from the 1994 Pubic Works Capital Fund and the Road DCC Fund to complete this project.
