May 13, 1991/121 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, May 13th, 1991, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Aldermen M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk, and R.H. Talbot in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, Director of Plar iing C.R. Felip, City Engineer Igor Zahynacz, Fire Chief J. Baillie, Deputy Fire Chief Terry Clarke, and Secretarial Assistant to the City Clerk S. Rauh. Mayor L.M. Traboulay declared the following Proclamations: WHEREAS: Disabled persons need to have resources that will enable them to live as full and productive citizens of society; and WHEREAS: Disabled persons are workers, consumers, home buyers, apartment dwellers, users of public and private transportation and municipal and recreation facilities and are, in short, full and contributing members of society; and WHEREAS: Public awareness is limited, regarding the needs of disabled persons for access to housing, the marketplace, transportation, services and recreational facilities, as well as the concerns and accomplishments of disabled citizens; ‘NOW THEREFORE: I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of May 26 to June 1991 as “NATIONAL ACCESS AWARENESS WEEK" in the City of Port Coquitlam. “WHEREAS: The students of George Pearkes Junior Secondary will celebrate excellent year of achievement, citizenship and athletics; “WHEREAS: The students of George Pearkes Junior Secondary will express their . commitment to the environment with their second annual Pearkes Pride Day; WHEREAS: Students and staff will participate in a number of projects to clean up and enhance the school and the neighbourhood during the morning of .
