LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Lot 394, SW 1/4, Plan 44683 BACKGROUND: The property in question is located at the southeast morner of Prairie Avenue and Coast Meridian. The proposed site includes a section of Ulster Street road allowance, the sale of which is subject to Council's approval. The proposed development will be a single level structure housing a supermarket and a number of retail stores and offices. Parking to be provided will be based on the ratio of one car per 150 square feet retail floor space which is twice as much as the parking for normal commercial use. Landscaping and ‘screening will be provided along the perimeter. STATISTICS: Lot Area: 163,700 + square feet including 17,556 square feet of road allowance. Building Area: 36,040 square feet of supermarket 21,750 square feet of retail 57,790 square feet total. Parking: 258 cars at one car per 150 square feet of retail area. RECOMMENDATION: The subject development was dealt with by the Committee at its meeting on May 5th, 1976 and the Committee recommends that the development be approved in principle and that a public information meeting be held. on, ee, Planning Officer.
