/22, May 26th, 1975 That a letter be written to the Local Government Restructure Feasibility Study Committee, with copies to The Honourable J.C. Lorimer, Minister of Municipal Affairs and to the Premier David Barrett, indicating the strong objection of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam to the fact that the meetings of the Committee are not open to the public, and requesting that these meetings be made open to the public forthwith. Carried. Alderman Ranger voted against the resolution. Ald. Traboulay ishes Mayor & Mrs. Campbell plea~ to wish the Mayor and Mrs. Campbell a very pleasant trip to Eastern sant trip Alderman Traboulay then stated he wished to take this opportunity Canada and that he felt certain Mayor Campbell would represent the City very well at the Canadian Federation of Mayors & Municipalities' Conference in London, Ontario. Ald.Keryluk re Alderman Keryluk stated his concern with respect to the figures School Bd. figures provided by the School Board on accommodation at various schools in the City, and Mayor Campbell advised that clarification thereof would be obtained. Ald.Keryluk re Alderman Keryluk stated he had received correspondence from the report from Vector Control Off- Vector Control Officer of the Simon Fraser Health Unit concerning mesquito icer on Mosquito control, which he then read for the benefit of those present. Alderman Keryluk suggested that any person who desired his area to be avoided during aerial spraying should contact the Vector Control Officer, Simon Fraser Health Unit, 644 Poirier Street, Coquitlam, B.C., and to his suggestion that as notifications on mosquito control are sent out as a matter of routine to the Department of Fisheries and Environmental Protection Service, a letter be sent to the Vector Control Officer requesting that the same information be made available to the City, members of Council generally agreed. It was noted in the report that the overall co-ordination and authorization of all aerial spraying will be the sole responsibility of Beak Consultants Ltd.; however, as the approval of Council has, in the past been required for aerial spraying, the following motion was praposed: Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That there be no aerial spraying for mosquito control in the City of Port Coquitlam without the consent of the Council as has been the policy in the past.
