Port Coquitlam, B.C. ; Dear Mrs, Jahn, hank you “for your phone call yesterday detailing the developing plans for the Port Coquitlam Area Women's Centre, I have only recently taken on yesponsibilities for Family and Marriage Counselling at the Vancouver Resources | Board Family and Children's Services Office here in Coquitlam. Of my currently active caseload, of approximately 25 families, fully 50% of the wives and mothers interviewed by me should have been referred to the type of progran you describe you are hoping to create. This dramatic pressure for such a service is not so much because these women are experiencing a "new" kind of problem but that the general raising of female consciousness across the country, stinulated by the federal government's clear support of International Women's Year, has caused them to be open to new and more creative approaches to self discovery and family conflict resolution, XI am really hopeful that the services desigmed to be offered by the Women's Centre become available at the earliest possible date and that you keep me informed. of any possible ways in which I may be helpful. Yours sincerely, Robert G. Doli, Family Coungellor.
