October 21st, 1974 A tegular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coq- uitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B. C. on October 21st, 1974, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor J.M. Campbell, Aldermen J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, M.A. Thompson, and L.M. Traboulay in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer V.G. Borch, P. Eng., Fire Chief W.S. Wingrove, City Planner Lanson Lee, Recreation Director Janna Taylor, and Mrs. B.M. Aalten. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Laking: Minutes - Oct. 7/74 Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the minutes of the regular meeting of this Council held on October 7th, 1974, be taken as read and adopted. Carried. DELEGATIONS: The City Clerk advised that Mr. Harold Routley was in attendance to H.Routley re Fraser/ discuss the drainage in the FraserCambridge area with Council, and on Cambridge drainage invitation of His Worship the Mayor, Mr. Routley stated he had appeared before the Council a few months ago asking for improvements to the drainage system in that area, but to date nothing has been done. The City Engineer advised that the survey work in that area has been completed, and that in a report from the Assistant City Engineer, it was stated that the cost of the work to solve the problem would be about $5,000.00. Alderman Thompson pointed out that authorization to proceed with the work was required as the item is not presently in the budget. Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the work required to be done to alleviate the drainage problem in the Fraser-Cambridge area, at a cost of approximately $5,000.00, be proceeded with. Carried. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, a discussion ensued, and Alderman Ranger inquired why the drainage improvements would be carried out in the lane rather than in the middle of the street so that all residents would benefit from it, and the City Engineer stated that this possibility would be examined.
