LETTERS The following ts taken from a letter recetved in response to a letter/queationatre sent out by the Guild: News from the Saltepring Ialand Pottere Guild Our Guild hae 25 members, 12 of whom are production potters. We try to have 3 or 4 workshops a year. Theae are held on a week- end with a pot-iuck dimmer preeeeding, after which the visiting potter usually shows his/her elides. Thtea past year we have had Andrew Wong, Jeanne Sartch, Gordon Hutehens and Byron Johnetad, We try to have a "Studio Afternoon" once a month with demonstrations by a toeal potter. "Arteraft" ts held every July and Auqguet sponsored by the Canadian Arts Counetl; thie te a very good outiet for our pote. Thte sale ts pestrieted to Gulf Ieland peeitdente. The Potters and Weavere have a pre-Amas sale in November. Last year we purchased a pug- mili, elide projector and screen with the proceeda from thie sale. We would be very interested in obtaining slides from you to show at a etudie afternoon. The Gutid keeps a supply of moet-ueed glaze matertals on hand. We agree with you that travelling shows are very expensive and we are not especially intereated in them. Our Guild ta rather intereated in purchasing a clay mixer but wonder if storage and extra work is worth it. Any ideas from other groups? Keep up the newe letter, tt te informative for those of we who don’t tive in the "big Crty".
