Terrace Concert ‘ Association is ‘pleased to announce the presentation of Josep-Joan Henriquez - i Guitar and Roland Richard - & Baritone, in concert on Saturday, March 12, 1977 at § 8:15 p.m. in the R.E.M. Lee Theatre. Born in Barcelona in 1951, 3 Spanish guitarist, Josep- Joan Henriquez began his studies at the Barcelona Conservatory of Music at the age of nine until he obtained’ his ‘‘diplome superieure’’. He was one of Hila the few granted the iy a privilege of studying the aiaoe guitar with the famous guitarist-composer, Graciano Tarrago. After Tarrage’s death in 1973, Em Henriquez continued his studies with Eduardo Sainz de la Maza. He received the “Premier Prix de Guitare” [i and the “Prix d’Honneur” for chamber music from the § Barcelona ~ Conservatory. & The talent of Mr. § Henriquez is recognized throughout Spain in all the music circles where guitar is so prominent. - As a founding member of the reputed § Tarrago Quartet, he has played in Spain, France, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Poland and Israel. Winner of the “Prix d'Europe” he pursued his studies at the Vienna i Music Academy under the direction of Prof. Erik and with the renowned baritone, Hans Hotter, in Munich, Recipient of numerous scholarships, this young artist has performed across $s Canada with such com- panies as “the Canadian 2 Opera Co,”, “Le Theatre du. — Nouveau-Monde”, ““Jeunesses Musicales . du Canada” as well as in solo recital tours. He took part in the. Commonwealth’s Art Festival in London and sang in Switzerland, Austria and Germany. Many Terrace Concert Association members will remember Roland Richard who played Papagano in the extracts from “The Magic Flute’ performed in Terrace about two years ago and in 1976 he sang with “Bes Grands.
