Savage, Provincial Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, protesting his apparent sup- port for floating fish processing vessels on B.C.'s coast. In our view, it is not possible that the minister arrived at his position through @ process of careful Study. Our letter, therefore, argues that floating processors will no doubt rob areas that presently boast on-shore fish processing facilites of a valuable tax base and source of employment. And for what? There is no way floating Processors can offer the same stable source of employment income to fishing communities now available from on-shore facilities. For non-fishing communities there exists a clear environmental threat and, for this reason alone, floating processors should be opposed by all British Colunbians. 7 i | of i i j i ; i i H 3 , f We believe few of our concerns have been seriously taken into account by the minister and, hence, this letter. Please write the minister now and tell nim you want NO floating processors on the B.C. coast, until such time that communities most likely to be adversely affected have had the opportunity to conduct a full study and debate the issue. Finally, our organization would be most happy to meet you and provide you with our information on this matter, should you require it. Sincerely, Wei Le | 774 Lilian John Radosevit, Business Agent /pf oteu-15
