Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Traboulay inquired of Mr. Ian Birtwell, who was present on behalf of the Greater Vancouver Housing Corporation, whether it was intended to leave some of the existing trees on the site and Mr. Birtwell advised that all of the trees in the ‘forested area' and those in the vicinity of the proposed fire hall will be kept in total, and that some adjacent to the Woodside Estates and others on the site would be kept where possible. Alderman Traboulay referred to the improvements to Coast Meridian Road to be constructed generally adjacent to the project site, inquiring whether City funds could be used to continue the improvements to the Prairie Avenue intersection, and Mayor Campbell advised he would investigate that possibility. From the City Clerk, May 8th, 1975, referring to the fact that Traffic Amendment By-law No. 1378 failed to receive first reading at the May 5th, 1975, Council meeting, and advising that Alderman Keryluk has requested the By-law re-appear on the Agenda this evening for initial consideration. Alderman Keryluk introduced a By-law to amend the "Traffic Regulation By-law, 1971, No. 1117".
