The employees tried to extinguish the fire before calling the fire department. The fire spread so rapidly the black smoke and flames could be seen by the firemen responding to the call when they reached Kingsway near the Sports Centre. When the fire depart- ment arrived the roof was completely burned off. $5000 damage to a Tug boat. The fire occurred when the boat was in the river north of the Pitt River Bridge. The boat was beached near the dyke at Dominion Avenue where fire department completed extinguishing the fire. The crew had the fire controlled at the time of beaching. $900 damages to a C.P.R. box car ignition unknown, possibly caused by a fuse. 38 Inhalator calls. 23 home emergencies consisting of heart attacks, strokes, asthma attacks, man suffering from emphysema, lady fractured a hip, diabetic, falls causing injuries and people suffering from different symptoms in each case they had had the flu.
