AUL - 91973 _ TO: Mayor and Council DATE: July 6, 1973 FROM: Health Committee : The Health Committee met in the Council Chambers of the City Hall June 28th, 1973, x Present were Chairman Alderman Meyer; Alderman Traboulay; Alderman Laking; : Dr. Munroe of the Simon Fraser Health Unit and L.D. Pollock, City Administrator. RE: Coquitlam Hospital . The Committee further discussed a brief submitted by Mrs. Angus regarding the Bryan's Report and its affect upon the planning for the Coquitlam Hospital, The | Committee was informed by Alderman Laking that a meeting had been arranged for oe July 12th with the three Municipal Councils and the Hospital Board to review the situation. The Health Committee makes the following recommendations: 1. That Council express its support for the construction of a Coquitlam hospital that was included in the last hospital referendum. I 2. That the Hospital Society explore the needs of the District with respect to i full hospital services which should include the Coquitlam hospital plus : satellite community health care facilities in order to provide a full range of health care services in the area. i 3. That an approach be made to the Minister of Health and Hospital Insurance ' Services when the results of our joint meeting with the Hospital Board are | known. f 7 LDP :da
