On June’1, the world marks International
Children’s Day—the focus of International
Year of the Child and an international cam-
paign around the UN Declaration of Rights.
Some of the children pictured here were not
yet born when the first of these photos was
taken five years ago, but by 1979, they had
already taken a part in the campaigns for bet-
ter housing, for democratic rights, and for
peace... :
