The Implementation Committee to Promote Francophone Immigration in BC Starts Its Work On July 22, 2010, the Fédération des francophones de la Colombie-Britannique (FFCB) started working with the Implementation Committee to promote Francophone immigration. This working committee helps the Regional Steering Committee identify actions to be taken and projects to be implemented to achieve the objectives of the 2010-2014 action plan. More than 20 Francophone organizations took part in this project. The members were divided into four working groups, based on the objectives of the regional immigration action plan. The groups met at various times, particularly in September and October. Peripheral to the work performed by the working groups, the members of the Implementation Committee met on February 16 to discuss a new operating model for the Connection Centre for Francophone Immigrants (CCFI) and to look at the year’s achievements and the activities planned for 2011. ACHIEVEMENTS e Funding from Citizenship and Immigration allowed the working group to organize workshops on starting a business. These workshops were held in Vancouver (March 18-19, 2011) and in Surrey (March 24-25, 2011). e A few representatives of the Working Group on Social and Cultural Integration.
