THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMO TO: B. Kirk, DATE: November 05, 1987 City Administrator. FROM: Business Licence Task Force RECOMMENDATION: , e That the number of categories and the relationships among fees within our Business Licence Bylaw remain as is. / BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: The Task Force was charged with reviewing business licence fees and did examine and consider various options to amend the bylaw, including reducing the number of categories, however the committee feels that the existing categories cover all eventualities and assists in the enforcement of our bylaw. The rates were also reviewed as to their relationship one to another and with those charged by other municipalities (see attached comparison), the committee felt after this review that the existing system is fair and equitable. The committee also discussed the possibility of licencing home occupations and is not recommending a move in this area at this time. In order to licence home occupations changes in the zoning bylaw (as a permitted use in residential or . agricultural zones), development services bylaw (for parking regulations) and our sign bylaw for signage.
