May 5th, 1975 /5. the traffic will have to squeeze down to two lanes right at the Prairie Avenue intersection. Mr. Platt stated his concern with respect to an improved intersection at the Lougheed Highway, and Acting-Mayor Alderman Thompson advised that it will become a major intersection in the Community with a left-turn lane, etc. Mr. Platt stated he would like to see a bicycle path on each side of the road - down Prairie and up Cedar Drive. Alderman Ranger stated he felt it should be pointed out that the Developer is paying off-site and on-site costs and that he agrees other developers should pay their way; however, he commented that with the Fire Hall being constructed on Toronto Street, the City has reduced the Developer's costs by $25,000.00. Mrs. Vera Harvey inquired whether five additional rooms at the Birchland School would be sufficient to accommodate all the children that would be generated from this project and others, and Acting-Mayor Alderman Thompson commented that if the School Board advises there is adequate schooling there is no choice but to accept what provisions have been made. The City Clerk mentioned from a procedural point of view that reference to Section 14 in the last sentence of Section 15 on Page 7 of the Land Use Contract should be changed to read Section 13, and that an amendment will be proposed acccrdingly before the By-law receives third reading. The Public Hearing adjourned at 8:05 p.m. and the regular Council meeting then commenced.
