Performance o art gets J funding boost SN - Vancouver's performance art scene has <5^ received a financial windfall with the 5 approval of a $20,000 grant from the ^ Vancouver Foundation for the production of the LIVE Biennial of Perfor* - mance Art this fall. i£ Seventeen Vancouver arts organisa^~ tions, including the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Contemporary Art •^ Gallery, are presenting the festival, ^ which runs Oct. 13 to Nov. 30, and vyv focuses on solo performance by artists from across Canada and the U.S. Confirmed artists to date include Alvin Tolentino, Rebecca Belmore, Judy Radul, Michael Turner, Margo Kane, Diane Landry, Victoria Stanton, Glenn Lewis, Louise Moyes, Josie Tremblay, Lorena Wolffer and Robert Ashley. Vancouver has played a major part in the development of performance art since the 1960s.
