V3C 2A8 Dear Jeff: Re: Proposed Soil Removal Bylaw, ‘Soil Deposit Bylaw and Contaminated Soil Bylaw Our File No. 19-229 Further to our letter of April 1, 1993 and our subsequent telephone conversations, we are writing to .onfirm the status of the above-noted bylaws. We understand that the draft bylaws were given readings by Council in late 1991 or early 1992, following receipt of Mr. Gaudry’s report of November 14, 1991. We = 5 understand that the bylaws were in the form recommended at that time and, foll’ -g three readings. the bylaws were referrca to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs for approval ¢? the permit fees in accordance with Section 930.1(5) of the Municipal -Act. Apparently the Ministry has had the bylaws for over a year but has not responded to the City’s request for approval. In any event, the draft bylaws which were forwarded to the City with our letter of February 12, 1993 differ from the bylaws which were previously given readings by Council. For that reason, we recommend that the previously proposed bylaws be abandoned (by rescission of the three readings previously given to those bylaws) and that the 1993 drafts of the bylaws be given consideration on the basis that they are new bylaws.
