NEW ENVIRONMENTAL LEGISLATION AND REGULATION :
A CONFERENCE ON THE DELEGATION OF PROVINCIAL POWERS
(Eaviroomental Committee Meeting March 3, 1993

RECOMMENDATION:

1. That Council authorize the attendance of the Environmental Protection Committee
namely; Councillor J.J. Keryluk and M. Thompson, arid the Deputy Engineer to the
two day conference to be held April 7 and 8, 1993 on New Environmental
Legislation and Regulations.

That the cost for this conference be allocated from the 1993 Environmental
Protection Budget.

BACKGER.C UTS AND COMMENTS:

Committee considered the information on the upcoming two day conference and recommended
that all members of the EPC be authorized to attend.

The Conference is sponsored by UBCM, Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Municipal
Affairs. it will examine important aspects of the Provinces new environmental responsibilities
as well as comnuuzity and local government goals.
