Larson, Manager of Customer Accounts Dear Sirs: Electrical Power Supply to Drainage Pump Stations On behalf of Council, I have been requested to write to you with respect to the rate schedule being charged for the supply of Electrical Power to our Drainage Pump Stations. The Municipality currently operates 5 Pump Stations in which is housed u total of ll Pumps. The Pump Stations are located within 3 separate Dyking Areas which coutain a total catchment area of approximately 12,400 Acres. Pump Stations are operated most often during the Winter and Spring months when run-off is at its highest level. During the Summer months the need to Operate Drainage Pumps is minimal. Gouncil is concerned that ducing the Summer months the Municipality is being charged a minimum monthly demand charge based on "50% of the highest maximum demand charge billed in any month wholly wlthin an on peak period ducing the imnediately preceeding ll months.” you that Councll strougly objects to this method of billing and that the erate schedule be immediately reviewed wlth a view to rovidin roa more uguitable billing system.
