Closing time extended on several nights.

Activities —
Usual - Pool, ping pong, pottery, chess, cards, weight lifting.

Extra - mone ~ due to the large attendance and to the three new staff members
spending most of their time in supervision, and inside activities developing
an informal relationship with the kids and learning how to handle disciplinary

problens.

Counselling

Usual - both informal and formal counselling sessions continued on our regular
basis of at least two kids per evening and one group session per week.

Extra - January was a busy month for some kids ‘with court appearances and
mew charges, etc. Spend alot of time on advising re legal aid, presentence
-Yeports, etc.

Staff Development

Usual - weekly staff meetings to discuss program development, discipline
problems, problem cases in counselling, etc.

Extra - Three new staff members were trained by Dr. Metler and Jerry Moore
in how to supervise kids and develop a friendly but respected relationship.
Much time spent on how to handle behaviour problems.
