heir missing 24-year-old

Liz Sahadeo went missing Feb,

22 from a Surrey bus exchange |

and hasn't been seen since.
She was convinced she ‘had
contracted AIDS and was going
to dic.
But Liz lent home the day be-
fore her HIV test resulis were to
come back..

She left behind a letter saying
that she was going away to die
alone so her parents didn’t have
to go Ihrough the agony of sceing
her wasle away,

next day, they were negative, She
isn’t HIV-positive,

“Her patents say she had often
talked about moving north. and
those statements led them lo ask

IT’S BEING BILLED as a Feminists’ Retreat at a farm east of Terrace.
Organizers say the event will be an open forum for discussion of cur-

rent feminist issues and directions.

The agenda will be decided Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m.
Women are welcome to arrive after 5 p.m. on Friday. The weekend

wraps up Sunday at 4 p.m.

Participants are to bring their own food and personal camping equip-

ment, There’s livestock there, so don’t bring dogs. .

headline the list of entertainers
performing Saturday in Kitimat.

The community concert at
Riverlodge Communily Centre is
the highlight of a giant weekend
celebration to. mark the 40th an-
hiversary of the start of aluminum
production in Kitimat.

Other entertainers on hand in-
clude Wager,-a Vancouver 50’s
and 60’s dance band.

Some 2,500 tickets are on sale
for the event at $10 each,

The: celebrations start. Friday
with the pouring of a series of
commemorative 40th anniversary
ingots at the smelter.

That will be followed by the un-
veiling of a memorial to the
workers who were the pioneers of
1954 — the original workers at
Kitimat who built.and began the
operations of the smelter.
