Curling back in — Kitimat — After almost two full seasons of non-curling at Kitimat, curlers got some good news from their council late last month. Council has agreed to in- vestigate the use of the ice rink for a bonspiel in April, with the recreation commission em- powered to look into possible regular use of the ice rink in next season’s schedule. Closure of the curling club two years ago made die-hard curlers travel to Terrace to play their game. As youth curling was left out in the cold, curlers were anxious to find an interim solu- tion. A trip to Stewart will be part of the investigation as that nor- thern community has an ice rink that’s used for hockey, skating and curling. The mechanics of making the Kitimat ice rink’s surface suitable for all three sports will be studied. * Allison couver on the Jan. 23 weekend.
