Eng., Deputy City Engineer SUBJECT: Request for Electrical Outlet on Streetlight - Moody Court (Public Works Committee Meeting July 5, 1989) Recommendation: I. Background and Comments: The attached petition signed by the owners of 18 properties on Moody Court ; 7 requesting that an electrical outlet be installed on the Streetlight posts in 7 the landscaped cul-de-sac island has been received. The reason for the 4 request is that the residents wish to install Christmas lights on the trees s located in the landscaped islands. The Committee noted that B.C. Hydro would require that a metered service be installed and the City would have little control over who uses this electricity, and that there are some concerns with respect to liability to the City in the event someone were to be electrocuted, The petitioners also have requested that installed at the entrance to the cul-de~sac, signs are not a recognized standard, over their children to prevent them concerned for their safety. ; bdisteboted with Ie, .
