The race drew eight cars from Prince George joining nine Terrace cars racing for $1,300 .in.prizes. . Fans were literally on their feet for most of the exciting racing Aug. 3 as ail the drivers raced hard, crashed harder and left the racing surface at a wholesale rate, Local driver Dan Dollemore is car 329 and Dave Lamke in car 671 bumped hard into each other hooking bumpers and went spinning off the track together. A cauple of laps later car 3 from Prince George lost a tire and went flying off corner two. That night’s 10 lap Jamboree saw Dollemore and car 21 from Prince George racing hard on the first lap, colliding and both cars leaving the track on corner three. Dollemare’s car ended way back in the trees while car 21 managed to drive out and get back on the track. He suffered from whiplash and a slight concus- sion and was released from hospital a few hours later. . The Thornhill fire. department was very busy on both nights and all the racers appreciated their expert and prompt help. ° Look forward to next year’s Bom- .-ber invitational which is expected to host even more out of town cars and a few new cars from the Terrace area, The Hobby cars also saw some good, hard racing. Dave Reinhardt in car 55 had engine problems Aug. 3, took his car home, fixed it and was back in action in time for the even- ing’s racing. He finished the races on Saturday but unfortunately had the same problem the following day. Again he whipped home, fixed the car up and came back in time to take part in the Aug. 4 trophy dashes.
