A further characteristic of the Dominion Triangle is its extensive
frontage along the Lougheed Highway. This provides the site with excellent
visibility and access for the businesses that may locate there. As an entry
point into Fort Coquitlam, there is also the opportunity to present 4
desirable image for the City. Guidelines will have to be developed to ensure
an appropriate image and high quality of development for the Dominion

Triangle, both along major arterials and within the site. A cohesive and

attractive setting would enhance the City's image as a desirable place to live

opportunity for industrial and commercial development. Tke location has

several attractive features:

close to rail and river transport facilities
central in the Greater Vancouver Regional District
accessible to the Fraser Valley |

affordable housing in the vicinity for employees

in a rapidly-growing community

The 0.C.P. encourages the development of employment generators within

the City. Furthermore, the creation of new jobs in Port Coquitlam is in

compliance with the GVRD's Livable Region Plan, which encourages the

decentralization of workplaces to create a balance of joba throughout the

region.
