9. CONCLUSIONS a) The lowest 3 tenders aré very competitive and well balanced with a totai tender value variation of 5%. b) Some of Maple Leaf's unit prices are low. However apart fron Item A-1 Maple Leaf Construction's low unit price bids have a negligible effect on their tender value. c) Apart from Jack Cewe Ltd. all tenderers have subconiracted asphalt paving, concrete curbs, electrical and street lighting work to other contractors. Jack Cewe subcontracted electrical work and line painting only. d) Maple Leaf Construction appear to have a limited inventory of heavy road construction equipment. They have indicated they will rent whatever equipment they require. e) Both Jack Cewe Lid. and B. Cusano Contracting Inc. have performed contracts of this size elsewhere. Maple Leat Construction’s largest contract value to date is $600,000. Ail ‘reports received on this contractor have been favourable. 10. RECOMMENDATIONS It is recommended that Project 900-121 be awarded to Mapie Leaf Construction Ltd. for the sum. of $634,507.50. PAGE
