Director of Planning Highway Commercial zoning District Text Amendment It is recommended that: Section 905 "Highway Commercial (cs-1)", subsection (1) "Uses Permitted" of Port Coquitlam Zoning Bylaw No. 2240, be amended by deleting clauses (%) and (1). Section 906 "Service Station (cS-2)", subsection (1) "Uses Permitted" of Port Coquitlam Zoning Bylaw 2240 be amended by renumbering the existing elause (c) as (d), and inserting a new clause (c) to read as follows: c) "Retail sale of groceries, and confections, occupying a maximum floor area of 60 m2 (645 square feet), accessory to a service station use". BACKGROUND : In late 1988 the Municipal Council expressed concern about the proliferation of service stations in the Port Coquitlam area. In reaction to these concerns the Director of Planning submitted to Council some amendments to the CS-1 and C5-2 zones similar to those recommended in this report. On January 30, 1989 the Municipal Council passed 4 resolution approving the above recommended amendments to the CS~-1 zone and amendments to the CS-2 vone that would allow for the "retail sale of groceries and confections, occupying a maximum floor area of 200 m2, accessory to a service station use”. After the above resolution was approved by Council, the Director of Planning requested that the Bylaw amendment not be implemented, pending further changes.
