A rough timetable is as follows:

Submission of proposals end of July
Suppliers short listed middle of August
Demonstrations from short listed suppliers September

Final evaluation and awarding of contract September /October

SKEW advises that the expected life of a new system will be eight years after
which it is normally more economical to replace the system than to continue to

provide maintenance on the equipment.

Delivery of the first phase of the programs and equipment would be expected to
be near the end of the year and I would expect that we will be running two

computer systems for a short period of time.

Prior to the awarding of the contract more information will be available on the
timetable for expansion of City Hall and the phasing of the computer equipment
will be scheduled with consideration of the City Hall expansion.
