Oct 1, 1981 ITEM III Re: Petition for Sidewalk on Columbia Avenue The Committee considered a petition received from Jane Reeves signed by 23 people requesting a sidewalk to be installed along Columbia Avenue for the use of children walking to Kilmer School and to the corner store. The street is narrow and has a fairly steep grade as well asa sharp curve which has resuited in some drivers losing control of their vehicle. The petitioners would like to see a concrete sidewalk rather than a crushed limestone walk as they feel the crushed limestone would not be used. The estimated cost of a concrete sidewalk along Columbia Avenue would be about $20,000 to $25,000. There are no funds available this year for this kind of work. In the meantime, stone path on the east 5s the curve and is obvious around time. ITEM IV Re: Other Business In addition to the above the Committee dealt with the £ollowing other items of business. 1. Mrs. Harvey was to have been present regarding a 4-way Stop at Vincent and Manning. She was not able to attend and the Committee therefore left this matter in abeyance. 2. Mr, Hoffer was present regarding his driveway at 1960 Prairie and a tentative agreement has been reached with him which will not require the replacement of his let-down along Prairie Avenue. The Committee denied a request for rocks to be placed on the boulevard at 1933 Connaught to prevent vehicles from driving on the boulevard.
